Subscribe to We Can Do!
If you wish, you can receive an alert in email when new posts are added to We Can Do. You can subscribe for free via “Feedblitz” at:
http://www.feedblitz.com/f/?Sub=332241
Signing up for email alerts is a two-part process. First you have to tell Feedblitz that you want to sign up. (If you are sighted, then please do that through the web at Feedblitz. If you’re blind, you do that through email; more instructions further below.) Second, Feedblitz will send you an email to ask you to confirm that you really do want to sign up. You will then need to follow the instructions in their confirmation email. You will NOT BE SIGNED UP FOR WE CAN DO EMAIL ALERTS until AFTER you respond to Feedblitz’s email with your confirmation. The reason Feedblitz does this is to help protect people from being signed up for email alerts without their knowledge or consent.
If you do not have a print disability that prevents you from using visual captcha, then please proceed now to Feedblitz to subscribe yourself there: http://www.feedblitz.com/f/?Sub=332241
Or, if you wish, follow We Can Do via Facebook.
Instructions for Blind People
If you are blind, visually impaired, or dyslexic, then you will need to subscribe in a different way. The usual web form at the Feedblitz site above asks subscribers to prove they are a human being–not a robot–by looking at an image and typing the letters they see. (i.e., they use visual imaging “captcha.”) This is not accessible to screen readers. It may also be difficult for some people with dyslexia. BUT Feedblitz says they will help you subscribe. If you are unable to subscribe via the feedblitz web subscription form then you can send an email to Feedblitz Support at support@feedblitz.com
Tell them you want to subscribe to the We Can Do blog at https://wecando.wordpress.com Also tell them whether you want these alerts via email, Skype, AOL IM, or Twitter (public or private).
Feedblitz says that they will help blind or visually impaired users subscribe to the blog(s) of your choice within one business day. This probably means 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. So if you try to sign up on Friday night in the United States then Feedblitz might not help until the following Monday.
I ALSO encourage blind, visually impaired, or dyslexic users to let me know that you are trying to subscribe. If you do this, then I can help make sure your subscription goes through as quickly as possible. Or I can help you follow up with Feedblitz if you run into trouble. You can contact me by posting a comment in the comments area below. (Be sure to put your email address in the field provided for it. You do not need to put your email in the body of your comment.) Or you can send me an email at ashettle [at] patriot.net.
However, if you are sighted with no print-related disability, then you are encouraged to please sign up yourself at http://www.feedblitz.com/f/?Sub=332241. My offer of assistance is primarily meant to be for people who might have difficulty completing the first part of the process themselves.

I am Andrea Shettle, editor of the We Can Do blog where you recently left a comment. (Your comment is included below.)
Thank you for your interest. However, please understand that there is no association between We Can Do and the many conferences, opportunities, resources, organizations, etc. publicized at the blog. This blog is NOT an organization. We Can Do is merely a conduit for passing along information from a great many sources. It is operated entirely by one person –me. And I do this entirely in my own free time, outside of my many other obligations. I receive zero funding for this activity and have zero funding of my own. Consequently, I am unable to assist directly or respond to individual inquiries. Instead, I encourage you to explore the We Can Do blog on your own at https://wecando.wordpress.com to find the information or resources that interests you.
If you are looking for relevant We Can Do blog posts announcing a conference, training opportunity, or other event to attend, check
https://wecando.wordpress.com/conferences-events-call-for-papers- training-opportunities/
If you are looking for relevant blog posts on resources, toolkits, or funding opportunities, try:
https://wecando.wordpress.com/resources-toolkits-and-funding/
And you can find many more fundraising tools and funding sources at:
http://disabilityrightsfund.org/resources-fundraising.html
If you are looking for information on a very specific topic, either check the pull-down menu under “Categories” (in the navigation bar to the near right) for the thematic topic that interests you, or try a key word search in the search engine at the top right-hand side of the page.
For more tips on how to locate the information you need at the We Can Do blog site, read:
https://wecando.wordpress.com/navigating-we-can-do/
Still can’t find what you want at the We Can Do blog site? Try these two suggestions:
1. Consider subscribing yourself to We Can Do so that you can receive an email alert each time the blog site is updated with something new. Instructions for how to do this on your own are at:
https://wecando.wordpress.com/subscribe-to-we-can-do/
2. Try exploring some of the many web sites for disability-oriented organizations around the world in the blog roll, at the very bottom of the page. Perhaps some other website will offer information that We Can Do does not have at this time.
Please note that each We Can Do blog post should have a link to an official web site with further details about the events or resources in which you are interested. (Or if there is no web link, then usually some other contact information should be provided, such as an email address.) To pursue these opportunities, you should therefore please follow the relevant links given in the blog post. The official site will provide more details and information than is possible to give in my abbreviated blog posts, including instructions for the appropriate way in which to contact the organizers directly or to apply for their opportunities. All applications, appeals, queries, etc. should please be directed to the organization sponsoring the event or opportunity that interests you, not to We Can Do.
Apologies for using a form letter. We Can Do is operated entirely by one person –me. And I do this entirely in my own free time, outside of my many other activities, with zero budget. Consequently, I have limited time for responding to individual inquiries.
Thank you, and good luck with your endeavors,

Application for Assistance/Partnership Assistance for Development Programs.
Dear Sir/Madam,
Warm greetings from GOBINDAGANJ DABALOY SCIENCE CULB.
This is our pleasure to introduce DABALOY,which is an established in 2005 with the collaboration of some like minded educated and energetic social workers with an aim to promote the socio-economic, cultural and environmental status of the coastal, rural and urban poor people through (main activities) awareness raising, organizing, institution building, capacity building, capital formation and undertaking felt-need based problem solving and rights based activities, which are sustainable, sound in respect of social, economical, cultural and environmental by adopting modern and scientific technologies, where DABALOY acts as a catalyst. The main beneficiaries are: the poorest of the poor, hardcore poor, landless farmers, etc. especially poor women (widows, divorced, husband separated, tortured etc.), poor children, adolescents, disables, street children, child laborers etc. who are from low caste Hindu, aborigines, tribal, Muslims, Christian etc. The main objectives are: poverty alleviation, promote education, economic development, social development, cultural development and environmental development and social justice, social harmony, democratic values and human rights establishment. The main working areas are: remote and hardship rural areas like coastal belts, chars (islands), waterlogged/low-lying areas, disaster prone areas etc. which are situated in the southern part of Bangladesh which are far from Capital city and Upazilla Towns, urban areas: slums, street sides, launch ghats, bus stands, etc. where very poor people are living, (conditions) who are the hardcore poor and vulnerable and suffer from illiteracy, ignorance, capacity, ill health, professional skills, modern technology, unemployment, food deficiency, malnutrition, and who are exploited, deprived and tortured in different respects, who are the victims of human rights violation, democratic rights violation, legal rights violation etc. and who have no decision-making capacity or power, who are isolated and unorganized. DABALOY emphases the women, disables and children for its programs, so, about 90% beneficiaries are women, disables and children. About 70% of the beneficiaries are living under subsistence level and leading a miseries and painful life in the coastal, rural and urban areas. The main professions are: selling physical labour, rickshaw pulling, boat oaring, share croppers, fishing, small trades, maid servants, pushing carts, coolies, selling fishes, rice etc. The main causes of poverty are: high rate of disasters and every year cyclone, tornado, over flood, excessive rainfall, tidal bore etc. destroy the standing crops, and other resources. So, high poverty is existed in the project areas. There is no employment opportunity for the poor people in the rural areas and urban areas, because, they are illiterate and have no professional skills. DABALOY has an efficient management with sufficient staffs and expertise and policy making body. Under these conditions, the lives of the poor people are too difficult and painful. The literacy rate of the poor people is about 18% but among the women it is only about 8% or less. Due to illiteracy and ignorance, they lead a very traditional life, where existing high rate of social barriers, religious barriers, superstitions, religious dogmatism, fundamentalism, male domination, social domination etc. Women have very less opportunity to go out of the houses due to high social barriers. So the conditions of the women are very painful and tragic. They become DABALOY the victims of trafficking, torturing, abuse, divorce, polygamy, deprivation, acid violence etc. DABALOY has been working for those people and has been trying to improve their lives in the society through making them aware, organized, build their institutions, greater solidarity, unity, capacity building, skills development and involving in different economic and productive activities. So, the activities of DABALOY is highly accepted and appreciated by the local people, administrations and government departments, because, DABALOY has considerable contribution in the field of rural and urban development. Now people are aware, educated, organized, capable and skilled in different respects, so, they want to do something for income earning, which will help to lead a favorable life in the society. They have realized the causes of poverty and their position in the society. So, they want to realize their rights and legal demands from the society through joint actions but they have limitations and the organization has also limitations. We think we should promote their actions through supporting financially and morally to establish them in the society; otherwise, they could never improve their conditions. So, we are soliciting to the benevolent donor agencies, personnel and institutions for supports. We are especially requesting support in the areas of human rights promotion, democracy promotion, social activities, economic activities and capacity building activities, HIV/AIDS prevention activities, trafficking and women violence prevention activities, child labour prevention activities and also education activities, so, they could be able to realize their rights, improve social and economic conditions and go a head to improve their lives. We cordially hope, the benevolent donors will extend their helping hands and cooperation to improve the lives of the hardcore poor people through different development processes. Please extend your kind helping hands and cooperation and help us to work for the poor people to establish them in the society with having rightful shares of the resources, human rights, legal rights, legal justice, social harmony etc. It would be highly appreciated, if you would kindly visit our project areas. Please send your prescribed guidelines and application formats and other related information, which will help us to get your benevolent supports for the poverty alleviation and human rights establishment. We are enclosing herewith the profile of DABALOY, which will give a clear picture of our initiatives for the poor people.
Anticipating your cordial cooperation and looking forward to hearing from you soon.
With best wishes and kind regards,
Sincerely yours,
Proff.Tapash Dev

1. OUR HISTORY
Amani centre for children with intellectual disabilities is a non-profit organization established in February 1992 by Ms Josephine Bakhita, after she was forced to vacate her matrimonial home to enable social freedom at her disabled son.
As a social worker, Josephine managed to mobilize fellow parents with similar children to her, and through this the Amani Centre was established.
In appreciation for the assistance she received from the local Roman Catholic Church, Josephine later decided to hand over the project to the Diocese of Morogoro, the Bishop of which now is the legal holder of the Amani centre.
