FUNDING for Small Community Foundations or Support Organizations

Posted on 19 November 2007. Filed under: Announcements, Funding, Opportunities, Resources | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , |

The Worldwide Initiative for Grantmaker Support (WINGS) Global Fund for Community Foundations makes grants of up to $50,000 USD to emerging and developing community foundations or support organizations in developing countries. Most grants are between $5,000 and $30,000. Grants are usually meant to develop the capacity of community foundations or other local philanthropic institutions that are grantmakers and that raise funds from local sources. The WINGS Global Fund focuses on developing countries.

WINGS Global Fund for Community Foundations indicates on their web site that, “The Fund recognizes that communities need not always be geographically defined” and lists women’s organizations and environmental groups as two examples of the types of grant-making foundations they would be willing to support. Although they do not list local disability-oriented grant-making foundations as an example, their concept of “community” seems to be defined in such a way that these, too, could be considered under their criteria.

The WINGS Global Fund for Community Foundations has three deadlines for funding applications each year. The last of these deadlines for 2007 has passed. The deadlines for 2008 will be February 29, June 13, and October 25.

See their web site to find out if your community foundation or support organization might be eligible for funding support. Review their “overview and eligibility“; descriptions of what they fund; instructions for “how to apply“; their “selection criteria“; “frequently asked questions“; and their list of “eligible regions and countries“, all accessible from their left-hand navigation bar.

Their web site is located at: http://www.wings-globalfund.org/apply-overview-eligibility.php

Hello,
I am called Alex Tumusiime,28yrs, enrolled general nurse by profession. Thanks for the information I read in the new vision last week. I have an initiated program in a local village to educate the youth, Elderly & the young about the spread of HIV/Aids and other STDs. I intend to establish a rehabilitation center to enable every one in the village access the health services. Most people have died of HIV not because of ignorance about HIV/Aids but due to lack of accessibility to hospitals and health units. My aim is to extend services to those unable to access treatment and to train more youth to participate in sensitization and public awareness of the deadly diseases in the local village.

Good morning to the crue out there at your office,i ran asmall organisation in Uganda that promotes enterpreneurial abilities amongst the disabled groups of people with ion Uganda, so how do i get acess to your material, financial and moral assistance, as it seems these are some of ther factors that have so much hindered my organisation to be able to reach out to many more people.

There is another way to get funding to the social causes that so many of our communities depend on. It is a simple way to produce billions of dollars of long-term funding for social causes. There is a way to harness the power of Capitalism for the Common Good that avoids government spending, taxes, stimuli, or bailouts. In the midst of the debate over which individuals should receive corporate bonuses, we should be asking companies to grant Social Bonuses that will benefit the public interest. Companies can donate warrants to charity – something that doesn’t cost them anything to give – and get a deferred tax deduction for the value of the gift. My organisation is working with the remote rural village communities in education and other community projects that can help the people to move a step above their poverty line. Can my Community Base Organization (CBO) have access to your funding?

I am Andrea Shettle, editor of the We Can Do blog where you recently left a comment. (Your comment is included below, with the URL for where you had left it.)

Thank you for your interest. However, please understand that there is no association between We Can Do and the many conferences, opportunities, resources, organizations, etc. publicized at the blog. We Can Do is merely a conduit for passing along information from a great many sources. The fact that an opportunity or resource is publicized at We Can Do is not an indication that I am qualified to answer specific questions about it. We Can Do is NOT an organization and is NOT a funding source. It is only an INFORMATION resource.

Instead, please note that each blog post should have a link to an official web site with further details about the events or resources in which you are interested. (Or if there is no web link, then usually some other contact information should be provided, such as an email address.) To pursue these opportunities or obtain these publications etc, you should therefore please follow the relevant links given in the blog post. The official site will provide more details and information than is possible to give in my abbreviated blog posts, including instructions for the appropriate way in which to communicate with the organizers directly or to apply for their opportunities.

Apologies for using a form letter. We Can Do is operated entirely by one person –me. And I do this entirely in my own free time, outside of my many other activities, with zero budget. Consequently, I have limited time for responding to individual inquiries.

Thank you, and good luck with your endeavors,

Andrea Shettle, MSW ashettle@patriot.net wecando.wordpress.com

Dear sir,
My name is Tita Stephen Chanweh.I am a cameroonian by nationality and live in Bamenda the Northwest Region of Cameroon, found in Central Africa. That is pretty far and thousands of miles and kilometres away.I am a Catholic by Faith and worship at St. Theresa’ Parish small Mankon-Bamenda, Archdiocese of Bamenda.I am pleading with a humble heart that you could have some time to read all these, without numerous second thoughts crossing your mind(s) and heart(s).I know and acknowledge the the crazy ‘stuffs’ that do emanates from Africa(especcially from Cameroon and Nigeria).
I believe the Almight God will grant you his Grace and leads you in reading this , if it is his wish and will for the Glory of his Holy Name.
Sir my cousin by name Chotinjih Pascal Ndeuyuehek who is about 25years or so had a ghastly accident on the 8th of July 2008, and since then things have never been thesame with him and everyone in our family.
He stood by the roadside that fateful Tuesday morning to take a taxi to the commercial street of Bamenda in order to purchase some few items, and alll of a sudden a commercial bus came and hit him and that affected his spinal cord and brain so terribly. At that juncture he went unconcious and was rushed to the Bamenda Regional Hospital by some kind-hearted passer-bys.He was then referred to the Yaounde central Hospital for lack of competent qualified medical personnel to handled such a case in Bamenda.
There inYaounde Central Hospital,he spent several weeks still unconcious.
He was later operated around his spinal cord, and he became paralysed, lost his memory and sense of thought. He was operated by Dr V.P Djientcheu, a neurosurgeon at the hospital. He also visited the St. Elizabeth Catholic Hospital Shisong within this period. He was later refered to Saint Theresa’s Catholic Medical Centre and St. Joseph Children and Adults Home (SAJOCAH) Mambu-Bafut.These two Catholic owned medical institutions are situated directly adjacent to each other with closest proximity.
SAJOCAH takes care of assessment, handicraft, physiotherapy, orthopaedic, braille and mobility training. On the other hand, St.Theresa’s Medical Centre do nursing care for these patients (mostly disabled) and others.
At this point, Pascal is on a wheel chair with his both legs paralysed.Though he speaks now but he usually speak off-sense at time.
Sir I have been deeply touched by all these predicaments, sufferings, grieves and ceaseless pains of all these peoples in this Catholic Medical Centres, yet I can’t really help them.I believe and pray God is their sole comforter,,I can only do pray for all of them always.
I was moved by all these and that pushed me to Mount Zion Training Center-Bamenda, where I am undergoing training in order to become a healthcare Provider. Schools have just resumed after xmas break and yet I am not able to go back to school because of bad times and all these interconnected. How I wish you would witness with your own eyes the conditions of these people , handicaps, lame, blinds, cripples..etc here in SAJOCAH .
I come to you with a humble and gentle poor heart full of grieves and sorrows of these people (needy) to plead for aid in their behave especially that of Pascal my counsin.
Since he had the horrific accident, all his siblings and others are not able to go to school anymore. His dad is almost loosing his mind and really going insane at time. His mother had been with hime since then from one hospital to the other.Non of his parents have a job nor someone to lean to, they’re just small farmers. Now they cannot even have enough to eat.
With the sorrows and grieves of these peolpes (children and adults) in my heart I pray you to consider them in the smallest portion of your hearts and see if you could be of any help to them.
I am not trying one of those ‘stuffs’ that do emanates from some guys.He who created me can bear me witness and you if you could have the means and possibility,I would be happy if you could set a delegation somehow , i don’t know, to see into this.I am sorry its just a suggestion.I have tangible proves that surpasses all doubts and skeptisms about all that I have narrated.Though lenthy , but still brief if I would have narrated a bit of everything about the plight of Pascal, all these people in SAJOCAH and mine as well , but I do believe the Lord is my shepherd and my strength and their as well and will always in his infinite mercies grant them the GRACES to face every side or phase of life.
I got proves of all these ranging from hospital documents of Pascal ,Dr. address (the neurosurgeon) addresses of St. Theresa’s Catholic medical Centre and St. Joseph Children and Adults Home(SAJOCAH),Mambu-Bafut and their websites.Three quarter of the staff of these Catholic owned medical institutions are Rev. sisters and devoted men of God I also have Pascal pictures immediately after his operation and his present state and could send them, can also send to you pictures of these disabled here in SAJOCAH, Mambu-Bafut.I would also take pictures of these disabled and the Rev. Sisters and some staff who take care of them and send to you if you give me the go ahead. Even my own personal picture with them I will send it., with several phone number ranging form that of the
——-the Director of the Healthcare School I presently attend. (He is a medical doctor).
———-my own phone number .
———-The directress of SAJOCAH(A Rev. Sister) phone number
———-The phone number of the Rev sister who personaly follow up Pascal condition in SAJOCAH.
———- The phone number of St.Theresa’s Catholic Medical Centre.
———–The phone number of the Neurosurgeon,Dr. V.P Djientcheu who handled Pascal operation at the Yaounde Central Hospital.etc.I will release all these immediately you demand for as I have discuss with all these authorities.
If you need any other form of justifications or clarifications do not hesitate, or you could do it your own way.I would be profoundly grateful if you would be touch by all this and could be of help in any form to this people.
I am just a nobody but wish to be a link and really happy to be a link of these underprivelege and your organisation, and intend keeping and building that link further. If you could only help link this up to any where that could help, then the Almighty God will bless you immensely.
What Pascal is in dire need of at the moment is a wheel chair. He had been and is still using the one provided to him by the physiotherapy department of SAJOCAH and he had by far exceeded the time limit that was given to him. This is so because it is limited and other patients also need it. They use these wheel chairs, callipers, crutches etc, in a routine and it is handed down to new patients after a give time. That’s the trend.Pascal also owed enormous debt to these Medical centres, but at the moment he is really in dire need of a wheel chair so that he could be pushed around.
One sad story too is that , around the site where he was operated (around his spinal cord) an internal growth (tumor) is developing inside.Another bad thing to his health.
I must confess that I searched thoroughly on the net to get your address and I am sorry for that and also sorry if your helping hands wasn’t meant to be stretched this far.I am a bit literate in computer and we owned no computer nor internet in our home.I can only struggle to write you from a cyber cafe and each time I will struggle to have some money for this.So I might be checking my mail every 2 days except otherwise.
I am also keeping this in paper writing and other documents pertaining to this in a file.
There are other worst situations in this place.
My heart and my entire being will forever be grateful if you could be of any help to PASCAL and these people(the neediest).
God bless you all for your time.

Hello,
Am Hope Nelson the Director for Community and Youth Development Initiative a local community based organisation, operating in Northern Uganda in two districts of Gulu and Amuru.

Community and Youth Development was founded in 2008.
We working in areas of health and education.
In health,we have made all measures to combat the multiplication of HIV and Aids spreading by organising sensitisation seminars in schools and in the local community.
We have provided services such as prevention of mother to child transmision of HIV.
We sensitise the local community the advantages of using a toilet as the locals have been used to using bushes as a way of easing them selves because of being in war for long.
We are transforming the youth in to good people through sports since they are traumatised by the long war and most of them are returnees from the hands of the rebels as some were produced while there and there parents killed.

In education,we move to rural schools making seminars on the dangers of droping out of school as they will be exposed to more early marriage and even contract the deadly HIV.

We provide some medication to the young ones such as pain killers and some malaria treatment drugs though on a small scale due to insurficient funds.

Currently we have know source of funding.we only have our brick making sub project which we make and sell so as to raise funds to run the project”s works as most of the workers volunteering.
We have no website yet due to inadquate funds.

We therefore request you kindly to extend you longer hand as concerns financial assistance so as to make our targets a reality.

Thank you and God bless.

Yours,
Hope Nelson

Gender Integrated Development Program (GIDP) Letter of interest for Support

Project Executive Summary
I am Edith Mandu, Program Coordinator GIDP. Most women in Pallisa District, Pregnancy, childbirth and the period after delivery carry a high risk of death or illness. The maternal mortality ratio is extremely high in rural areas, a public health indicator which shows the greatest disparity between gender and rich and poor. The common causing factors according to GIDP include her nutrition, health status, the number and spacing of her children and the quality of health care available and accessible to her. This has also catalyzed by gender domestic violence by their partners. Yet all these can be enormously prevented if mothers (and fathers) are well informed and avoid their susceptible to malnutrition for both mothers and infants. In fact District Health statistics indicate that at least 1-2 of 5 children under five years have experienced and or are experiencing malnutrition related illnesses.

Whereas the Government of Uganda ratified the primary health care policy, the response mechanisms in place are too weak to effectively address their cases, compounded by a lack of accurate data and much more is needed to reach the under served and un reached beneficiaries especially rural mothers of Pallisa District as a result, they have ended up producing low –birth weight babies, who are in turn more vulnerable to illness.

Therefore, while developing this Project, GIDP focus of intervention was based on an adequate understanding of the underlying socio – economic causes and cultural practices as well as on particular factors at household levels, mainly the lack of health information among the mothers. Therefore, the project is structured to empower mothers and educate them in how to prepare amore balanced diet with the foods available locally. At the same time, the project will address the problem in a multi disciplinary approach, with particular attention to means of improving households food security, gender domestic violence, women’s health and workload as primary factors in maintenance of nutritional well being and management of malnutrition.

Nevertheless, the project is objectively structured; To improve the nutritional status of severely and moderately underweight children in our community by providing tailored and appropriate extra support; to empower mothers of under weight children to better understand and tackle the nutritional status of children under the age of five years old, And to improve the ability and knowledge of community health workers and volunteers in dealing with malnourished children in their community.

The Project
In all families with which GIDP work, live in very deprived conditions and others near swamps. Children and mothers from these very impoverished areas are not offered any information about nutrition. Hence this project will mainly involve the communication of nutrition related information that will equip mothers, families and general community to make healthful food choices, and will be culturally relevant and specific through two methods; Theory and practical for the mothers around cooking and Nutrition health education sessions respectively.

Relatedly, lack of knowledge on the part of the caregiver about what constitutes good nutrition was found out by GIDP as a significant factor for high rate of malnutrition cases. Some mothers just don’t know what and when to feed their children and when pregnant. Hence two days each week are allocated, where mothers will bring their children for meals at our feeding program centers per parish. Mothers will observe the different types of nutrition food prepared by GIDP for their children using local nutritious foods. Then, at least once a week, the mothers will learn to cook healthy meals using also food that can easily be obtained locally.

Mothers will also attend weekly general health and nutrition training educational sessions. Through games, group discussions and interactive teaching methods, mothers will learn about the importance of certain types of foods, breastfeeding, feeding practices, how to treat various illnesses like children’s’ diarrhea, among others. In collaboration with health centers, (workers and doctor), GIDP will hold medical sessions at least once a week to offer advise to mother how to live healthy and preventive and treatment services. GIDP will also responsibly check each child as they come onto the program, noting his or her weight and height already recorded by our community health workers. They will also check for common illness that could be contributing to the Child’s undernutrition.

As a child continues on our feeding program, their weight will be monitored monthly and height monitored three monthly. If a child is found not to be making progress, our doctor and health workers will again run specific checks for diseases. And it is expected that the community (local policy makers) will continue to support the Project. On the advocacy, the already over mobilized mothers, GIDP will make sure each family access and plant family – based nutritious vegetables and fruits such as cabbage, tomatoes, avocado, etc as a primary preventive malnutrition measures. Once funds avails, it is expected that the project will help and improve feeding practices, optimal breastfeeding, good care practices, food and personal hygiene, caring behavior among others in our community, and in long run, nutritional rehabilitation unit (NRU) will be established.

On behalf therefore of the above organization, I would like to find out if your organization would help to catalyze our efforts by funding us.

Any funding for 2012?

Thanks alot

Thank you for the great work you are doing to develop communities around the world.

We are a Community Based Organization in Lira Northern Uganda.

We are supporting orphans and vulnerable children at a low level as we still lack donation. We have over 200 orphans and vulnerable children from Barlonyo massacre who were deeply affected by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) led by Joseph Kony. Some of these children day and night go, cry, mourn and sleep on the graves where over 300 people killed by the Kony’s Rebels were buried together thinking that their parents and relatives would come back to life.

The life style of these children became difficult after horrible experience they witnessed during the killing of their parents and some were forcefully made to eat the flesh of their parents, sacking the breast of their dead mother for the breast feeding ones, others were also made to eat their relatives alive while they cry until the person died etc.

We believe that through your support and prayer they can easily forget of the past and concentrate towards a better future.

We should work hard to correct the damages that he has left behind by supporting them with home base care, education, health care etc and preaching the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ to the broken heart.

We shall be very grateful for your kind consideration of our request.

Hope to hear from you.

Reply us through e-mail.

May God bless you abundantly.

Winnie

thanks we shall pray so that you get support for the children.

I am Ruth Manoti Maangi. I am a total orphan no mother no father. I was born in Kisii District General Hospital where my mother Abigael Ichwara succumbed to pregnancy complications immediately after my birth.
I was brought up by my grandmother Bilia Moraa Ichwara from that infancy stage. She ensured I had undergone all childhood immunizations and good nutrition.
I was educated up to Form IV by my mother’s brother the late Evans Maangi Ichwara was my guardian till his death.
I developed illness in 2010 up to now. I have undergone several medical examinations since then at Mbagathi District Hospital, Karen Hospital and Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH)
I was diagnosed to be suffering from Rheumatic Heart Disease Severe Mitral Valve Stenosis.

Recommendation by KNH cardiologists
Department: MITRAL VALVE REPLACEMENT.
I was booked for surgery at KNH November 2013 waiting list which is too far for me in relation to my health condition
1. I have had a mild stroke which has affected my right side.
2. I am anaemic due to destruction of red blood cells during the strenuous pumping of blood in the heart through the narrowed valve.
3. I’m on expensive daily medication to regulate blood and boost haemoglobin (HB)
4. The disease is life threatening due to weakened immunity I am sometimes admitted.
The family feels it is a matter of urgency and decided to take me to India for operation after various consultations.
I am living in Nairobi with my uncle Charles R. Ichwara and my aunt Isabella N. Ichwara.
They have tried to meet my daily medical expenses but are unable to raise 1.5 million shillings for my operation.

UGANDA AFRICAN DISABLED CHILDREN CHRISTIAN CARING COMMUNITY(UADCCC)
Bringing out the Potential in Children with Disabilities

UADCCC, a local Christian faith Non Government Organisation (NGO) founded in 1985 by Fr.Patrick Pius Shiribala, is committed to recognising and equalising the rights for children with disabilities. UADCCC exists to help children with disabilities and their families to access resources and opportunities to enable them achieve their full potential. The Faith community is currently implementing its new country strategy which aims at reaching all the disabled children in Uganda through a regional based approach.

The Christian faith agency is involved in raising public awareness about disability; building government capacity and empowering parents to offer care and protection; lobbying for disability inclusive polices, programmes and legislation; and through managing and sharing disability information. Our work takes a Community Based approach (Community Based Rehabilitation), which benefits approximately 6000 children annually.
The CBR approach emphasises the rehabilitation of disabled people (children) within the home environment, using locally available resources and with the active involvement of parents and family members.
In the last 20 years, UADCCC has directly assisted over 250,000 individual disabled children in terms of meeting their medical rehabilitation, educational placement or vocational training needs. These individual level interventions have completely changed the lives of these children many of whom have grown up to become productive and independent adults. They have also become role models or positive examples for the communities they come from and for individual families and their disabled children.

HOW WE WORK
UADCCC’s programme targets all disabled children irrespective of disability, gender, religion or cultural background. In doing this we work in partnership with government and other service providers (working within the existing structures for sustainability purposes) and lobbying for inclusion of children with disabilities and empower parents of disabled children so that they are able to participate actively in the process of fulfilling rights for their children.

Disability awareness
About 80% of the disability in Uganda is as a result of preventable causes and attitudes and practices with regard to disability are very much shaped by ignorance and cultural beliefs and customs. UADCCC continually carries out community education and sensitisation activities in all its districts of operations using both print and broadcast media. Professionals, parents, children with disabilities, local leaders and policy makers are brought together to discuss disability issues.

Medical rehabilitation
Medical rehabilitation is about the treatment or management of the impairment (defect to part of the body), which could lead to disability (People become disabled because of the physical and societal barriers that confront them otherwise they should not be disabled even though they are impaired). UADCCC has constructed and equipped physiotherapy units, orthopaedic workshops for production of assistive devices, wards (children’s convalescence hostels for

surgical purposes), mental health units and audio logy units.

Policy advocacy and lobbying
We are aware that as UADCCC we are not able to provide for all the needs of children with disabilities in this country. All we aim to do is to fill strategic gaps and create good practices that we can learn from with government. An important element of our work therefore involves constructively engaging government to ensure appropriate provisions are made for the fulfilment of rights of all disabled children in the country. This we do in partnership with a number of allies, which includes disabled people, parents of disabled children and other organisations working in the area of disability.

I humbly request you for financial aid so as to enhance us progress in our struggle of offering support to the needy and vulnerable children in our community under our organization above.

We offer support to children like orphans challenged and those from very poor families. Currently in our organization, we have a total enrollment of four hundred fifty (450) children within the age range of 3 to 15 years.

These children include those in Nursery, primary and secondary schools.

We pay for them school fees and provide all other scholastic materials, in the different schools they go to.

We get some support but it has not been enough for our wide programmes.

Due to our out standing vision of spreading services in our country Uganda as a whole after some time, we intend to embark on our Head office programmer among which involves construction of our own Head Office
This is going to be done in January 2014 we are going to start the construction of our Head Offices, estimated to cost US. Dollars fifty thousand us dollar only.

We are an organization that have been providing care and support to the orphans and vulnerable children in our communities, currently we have a school that is providing quality education from Pre-school – Grade 7 with the total number of 573 children.
WE have also been providing feeding programme for children since most of them come from poverty stricken homes where they can not even afford to have Breakfast, Lunch and supper for the children, as the result children just come to school on empty stomach causing them to start performing badly in class.
WE also help the school drop outs at the same community school as the result of failing to pay to the government schools our school tries in a small way to source for some funds to supplement on the families copying strategies.
This in a way have helped many orphaned children from getting into early marriages when they are still young and eligible to be in school so that once they finish their education they will be to help their siblings in the near future.
With this brief background, we would like to have more information on how best you can help us continue helping more orphans and vulnerable children in the communities.
For other information should you desire to have it we shall gladly avail it to you.

Dear Madam,=20

Thank you for the letter you posted through our mail box, we acknowledge re= ceiving it at the right time. However we would like to submit our letter of interest to your organization= since you have decided to expand activities in the country.

Ituna Orphans and Vulnerable children Association is therefore submitting a= ctivities on two projects which are=A0 advocacy activities and Skill develo= pment Training.

REASONS FOR SELECTING SUCH PROJECTS As the result of Gender Based Violence and HIV/AIDS related deaths many wom= en are made to be vulnerable in the sense that they have little support fro= m relatives in terms of economic support. Some of them have large families = they are looking for and yet they are facing some financial challenges and = this has negative impact on the lives of their children as they cannot cont= inue with their education hence getting married at tender age.

Another factor has been that there have=A0 increasing cases of poverty leve= ls in the communities leading to many young girls failing to cope up with t= he living conditions in the communities as the result they just engage them= selves in alcohol and drug abuse and commercial sex as a means of surviving= . Through the community interactions Ituna Orphans and Vulnerable Children = Association identified some gaps and came up with intervention strategies t= o help in the reduction of total dependence and perpetual poverty by introd= ucing the skills development training in tailoring at the same time advocac= y activities.

WHY ADVOCACY PROGRAMMES

This helps in the reduction of child marriages and divorce through advocati= ng for stronger policies aimed at protecting young girls from being forced = into marriages even if they are passing through hard times such as poverty = and orphanhood this will include women being divorced which leads to the su= ffering of the children as we believe that when two Elephants are fighting = it is the grass that suffers, therefore divorce has negative impact on fami= lies.

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT TRAINING AND WHY IT IMPORTANT

Giving a skill will lessen the dependence syndrome. The solution to poverty= does not depend so much in hand outs but through equipping someone with a = skill so that they can develop something that will be able to help in the i= mprovement of their living condition. This will strengthen all the communit= y intervention or copying strategies in curbing all bad vices leading to vu= lnerable women being taken advantage of by men asking for casual sex in exc= hange of money.=20

Therefore, once a woman is empowered with the skill, it is not her alone wh= o will benefit but the whole entire family. It is with this background that= our organization would like to develop cordial cooperation and request for= further assistance from you on concerning some grants to buy some machines= in addition to five machines that we currently have. With your grant we wi= ll train more women and young girls in the community we serve.

In conclusion, on behalf of the organization I would like to state that our= cordial partnership will surely result in improving the living condition o= f the vulnerable women in Twatasha,/ Racecourse shanty compounds.

Hoping to hear from you soon.

Regards,=20

Greetings from Malawi in south east of Africa,
I am writing on behalf of HOLISTIC CARE COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATION which was established with the aim of taking care of orphaned children. We exist to contribute to a better livelihood of children. Since our organization was established we have not been funded by any donor or financial institution. Our financial are monthly membership contributions that are not adequate to meet food supply.
We are unable to reach our goal of not letting every child go to bed hungry as now many do go to bed hungry as sometime we do rotate in our giving of food to these children. It is very sad and painful to know that there are people out there who don’t know and doesn’t care that really someone can go to bed without any food and yet they can help.
I will like to emphasize that our organization does not need a huge sum of money or help but we just need help in terms of food to feed the large number of children in our care, please I beg you our dearest to help us .If you were in a our position, to hear the stories and see of these kids with your own eyes going to bed 1 or more days without food you can shed a tear, it is a desire from us that these kids should have three meals a day. Please every little help you give will be much appreciated.
Yours faithfully

Dear One,
We are an ngo in Ghana appealing for your support to enable us alleviate the plight of many poor and needy people in our region in Ghana Africa.
Please,as you can view from our website, most pregnant women have to go on labour on bare ground with no proper medical examination, no hand gloves and other medical equipment for a save delivery. There are also many needy children, disabled and aged who have to be assisted to have some life in a very small way.
Please, remember, whatever we are touched to give is not by us, but unto the Lord.
Thanks and God bless you for your support.

…Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me”. (Matt.25:40)

Greeting to you in the name of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. Brother (or) sister my name is Rev .N.Immaniyelu I am only son to my parents. I studied up to intermediate (12th class). Later, during 1997-1999 I underwent Bible Training. I married with Esther Rani during the year 2000. My wife’s parents are converted Christians from Hindu Brahmin family. Later, I eagerly waited for the Evangelical Holy Services at the call of Almighty. Lord Jesus inspired me in my dream during the night to got to Meraka Kattlampudi Village of Eluru Mandal. According to His Holy word I preceded to the village along with my family members in year 2002. I faced so many hardships and starvation with my family residing in a rental house, as the villagers are innocents and illiterates. By the Grace of God, I gave baptism to 30 persons till date. All of them are poor agricultural coolies and daily wage labor. At the mercy of our Heavenly Father another congregation at Ameenapet started by us at a distance of 10 K.m.s. from my living place and gave baptism to 10 members. I used to go to these places on my cycle to spread His Word to the unreached. We have no church here. Because, all of the members of our congregation are so poor and no contributions. Most of the Members are belongs to washer man community. They will attend for their caste profession of washing Clothes at the houses. I am attending the Gospel work amidst of Hindu inhabitants in pallerlamudi village which is located at distance of 20 K.m.s, from my living place. Our organization is established in 2010. Register under society act XXI of 1860 Society No: 148/2010.We serve the poor and orphan children in our surrounding areas through Lord Jesus Christ. We are preaching 25 remote village surrounding katlampudi areas. Myself and along with me 15 pastors all are working without any support. But these Pastors and I completely depending upon the faith. The Mwanza Computer Literacy Project

The Tusaidiane Disabilities Resources and Charity Organization of Tanzania (TDRCT) would like to improve computer literacy and self-employment opportunities for people with disabilities in Mwanza, Tanzania, and promote their empowerment.

This organization is run by people who themselves have disabilities. I have known the man who founded this organization for some years. If his organization can quickly raise $5000 from 40 donors within a few days, then GlobalGiving will feature their organization on its website. This will enable them to attract more prospective funders. I have made a donation to them, I hope others will consider doing the same.
